Fact check: How did UIDAI contact number got added to Android mobile?

2 days back , many Android users in India stated that they came across automatic contact record UIDAI bearing number 1800 300 1947 got added to mobile contact list.
Interestingly most of the mi phones had this number. You can see a screenshot from Redmi Note 5 Pro above.
How did it get inserted?
Any service provider , or app with contact insertion permission would have done it.
Who created this UIDAI contact?
Google India has come up holding responsibility that they have created record few years back. Still we need to get answer on why did it reflected now. There are talks like Google may be holding this responsibility to save certain government department which needs to be proved yet.
Is this UIDAI number risky?
Not at all!! You can keep this number, however it's of no use. As currently this number doesn't exist.
As usual social media has it's own fake news running around with below statement.
Everyone Check your contact list.
A phone no is getting added with the contact name as 'UIDAI'.
If it's added in your phone, delete it immediately.
It's for hacking purpose.

It's a fake news. People won't be able to hack through contacts. Technology has come up where in case you open a website or click a button hackers can get your info. But not yet with contact vcf files yet.
