Mary's Island is closed – June 2021
Update April 2021:
As per Travebrate.com, St Mary's Island is closed for tourists due to COVID related regulations in Karnataka till May 9th 2021. From 10th of May till Mid of May 2021 Island is expected to be open. Post Mid May island usually gets closed for monsoon. However yet to hear from authorities on monsoon closure.
Update June 2020: St Mary’s
island, Udupi is closed for monsoon and expected to open by September mid of
2020.

In 2018 it was closed
from May 16 to September 15.
In 2019 it was closed from
May 16 to September 16.
In 2020 closure was early due to COVID. Restrictions will not be unlocked as
monsoon has started.
Other tourist places near Udupi are Krishna temple, kolluru Mookambika temple, Maravante beach and scooba diving and Malpe beach which will be open throughout the year. Udupi is famous for its vegetarian restaurants located across India. So don't miss trying out food at Woodlands or Mitra Samaj when you are there.
Update: Regarding closure of St Mary's Island in 2019 District authorities has not updated the dates yet. However the closure date would be almost similar as that is the period where huge rain is expected.
2019 update: St Mary's island is closed from May 16 2019 to September 16 2019. All water sports or adventure games in Malpe Bach will also remain closed during the period.
